Privacy Policy

There are no accounts, no sign-up, and no database of your searches on Letter Quest. We do not ask for your name, email address, or phone number, we do not build a personal profile, and we do not sell your information to anyone.

The letters you type are used right away in your browser to build the word list — they are not saved to a server by us. Puzzles you create with the puzzle maker are stored in your own browser's local storage so they are still there when you come back. Clearing your browser's site data removes them permanently, and no one else can see them.

Two features talk to outside services so they can answer you:

• AI clue ranking — when you press the AI ranking button, the clue you wrote and the list of possible words are sent to an AI service (OpenAI, through our hosting provider) so it can sort the list by how well each word fits your clue. We do not keep a copy of the clue.
• Word definitions — when you open a definition, the word is looked up at Wiktionary (en.wiktionary.org), a public dictionary. Their servers see that word and your IP address as part of serving the page.

Letter Quest shows ads served by Google AdSense to help keep the site free. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Cookies are small files stored in your browser; they let ad networks recognise your device and measure whether an ad was shown or clicked.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to Letter Quest and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised ads:

Opting out does not remove ads from this site — it only turns off ads tailored to your interests. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, and Letter Quest still works fully with cookies blocked.

Letter Quest is a general-audience word game tool and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us below and we will delete it.

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above and on this page will change with it, so checking back is enough — we will not email you, because we have no email for you.

Because we hold nothing about you, the quickest way to remove anything is on your own device: clear this site's data in your browser settings, and use the opt-out links above for ad cookies.
